From January 19 to March 30, 2014, Professor Lü Peng served as the curator of RETROSPECTIVE NOW: Photographs by Zhang Jun Exhibition at the Blue Roof Museum of Chengdu, for which a catalogue of the same title was also published. The catalogue systematically presents a selection of Zhang Jun’s significant photographic works from recent years and, through the combination of images and texts, traces the development of his artistic trajectory and visual language.
The publication includes reproductions of works shown in the exhibition, background materials on the artist’s practice, and related scholarly essays, discussing how photography engages with themes such as time, memory, and lived experience. By organizing and interpreting Zhang Jun’s photographic practice, the catalogue not only serves as an important documentary record of the exhibition but also provides a reference for understanding the position of his work within the context of contemporary photography.
